Penn State Hazleton
King's (PA)
Penn State Hazleton appeared to be in control for most of Wednesday afternoon, but a disastrous eighth inning allowed King's College to rally for a 9–5 victory at Lipo Field.
Hazleton built a steady lead through the middle innings, capitalizing early and often despite limited offensive output. They struck first in the opening frame, starting off with 2-0 lead. Although, King's answered in the second inning, tying the game on a two-run single. Hazleton regained control, scoring single runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings. Hazleton's pitching staff had largely contained King's offense. Relievers Jake Bobish and Sam Miller combined for four scoreless innings. Trouble arrived in the eighth inning where King's capitilized on defensive miscues to take the lead and later the win.
Brandon Unger led Hazleton with three hits, while Aiden Rodriguez scored twice and swiped two bases.
