State College, Pa. - Hazleton golfers tackled the White Course in University Park on Monday, earning a third place finish out of nine competing teams at the season's second Penn State University Athletic Conference Invitational. Three Hazleton golfers earned top ten finishes individually, helping the squad to a 321 strokes effort, falling short of Lehigh Valley's winning total by just eight shots and one stroke shy of DuBois who came in with a total of 320.Lehigh Valley's Brian Zinman earned individual medalist honors with a round of 71.
The Nittany Lions turned in four strong scores on the day en route to the quality finish. Senior Zach Kyttle (Berwick, Pa.) and freshman Eric Grodzicki (Naticoke, Pa.) land in a tie for seventh place with rounds of 79. Sophomore John Hawley (Mountain Top, Pa.) added a solid effort with an 80 on the day while sophomore Joshua Provost turned in a score of 83.
